Travelling to Croydon from Luton Airport:

A selection of the best options for getting to Croydon

from London's Luton Airport...

Private car hire/taxi is a great option and I can recommend an excellent car service which you can easily book online. When you arrive at the airport they will be waiting for you with a placard with your name on.

They will take you directly to the apartment and the drive takes around 1hr 10 minutes or more depending on the traffic.
Expect to pay around £70 for up to four people. Larger vehicles are available for those with lots of luggage or larger groups. For four persons with minimal luggage this works out at less than £18 each so is well worth considering particularly when you factor in the hassle of getting on and off trains with baggage and/or children.

Option 2- Let the train take the strain......

Underground from Luton Parkway station.

When you exit the airport, make your way to the shuttle bus stand at the bus terminal.

The nippy Shuttle Bus gets you to the Luton Airport Parkway train station in around 10 minutes (depending on the traffic)
Buses  run every 10 minutes all day between 05:00 and midnight and there is a through-the-night service for all train connections. The bus fare is included in your train ticket price if you buy the ticket at the airport or online.

The good news is that you can take a train from Luton Airport Parkway station which will take you all the way across London and into East Croydon station without having to change trains.

It's a great service that allows you to relax a little while the train takes you through the English country side and then deep under central London and the River Thames before appearing again at London Bridge and then on to East Croydon. The train Journey itself takes around 1 hour 15 minutes.
